Bridges Awarded United Way of Milford Community Investment Funding
Bridges Healthcare, Inc. will receive $168,000 in funds from the United Way of Milford Community Investment allocation for 2018. The award is allocated to serve Milford residents enrolled in Bridges' Outpatient Mental Health and Addiction program and BSAFE Project, formerly the Young Parent Program. The funds supplement state grants and contracts for outpatient services as well as funding from the City of Milford.
"We are proud and grateful that the United Way of Milford continues to recognize Bridges' work as vital to the Milford community," said Bridges' CEO Barbara DiMauro. "We have been a partner agency with the United Way for decades and appreciate the efforts of their board and staff, and all who give to the United Way for the funds they raise to help so many local nonprofits working to meet critical needs."
In 2017, Bridges delivered more than 48,000 hours of direct services for 1,287 Milford residents, including 278 children. Milford residents comprise roughly 50% of Bridges' active client base. Approximately 80% of those clients are from low-income households. With funding from CT Dept. of Mental Health and Addiction Services, CT Dept. of Children and Families and other public and private funders, Bridges also serves the residents of Orange and West Haven, and extends several programs and services thoroughout the region, for a total service reach to more than 5,000 individuals annually.
